We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team. This position is an excellent opportunity for a university or college student studying accounting, finance, or a related field to gain hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector.
Position Overview
As an Finance Operations Intern at AOWA, you will support our team with a variety of essential accounting tasks. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in financial reporting, data analysis, and general bookkeeping while working closely with a team passionate about making a difference in renewable energy.
Responsibilities
Bookkeeping Support: Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including managing expenses, receipts, and financial records.
Financial Reporting: Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal use and stakeholder review.
Data Entry and Record Management: Accurately input financial data into accounting software, maintain organized financial records, and ensure accuracy in all financial documentation.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist in processing invoices, payments, and other financial transactions while ensuring compliance with company policies.
Budget Monitoring: Support the team in tracking and reporting budget variances, analyzing spending trends, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Team Support: Collaborate with AOWA staff on additional tasks and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a university or college, ideally in an Accounting, Finance, Business, or related program.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
Interest in renewable energy and the offshore wind industry is a plus.
